Working with Master Gardener, Deborah Hartnett, Cowan students have a wonderful opportunity to gain a greater appreciation for the natural world and also apply many of their California Next Generation science standards.
Cowan Avenue Elementary hosts an active Learning Garden along with several other areas where classrooms maintain their own growing plots. From giant Cinderella pumpkins, to golden cornstalks, vibrant sunflowers, savory root vegetables, and delicate herbs, Cowan students begin to understand the benefits of farm to table living.
Cowan families are welcome to participate in our seasonal harvests. Please contact Ms. Hartnett through the Main Office to see what we have growing.
