Cowan Booster Club

Hi Cowan Family, 

I want to extend a gracious welcome to all new and returning families at Cowan Elementary.    

My named is Yolanda Ford-Swinton, I will be serving as your Cowan Booster Club President for this 2020-21 school year.   I am excited to see how we will overcome the challenges of COVID19 and embrace the “new normal” of remote learning.  It is my personal mission to provide effective leadership to parents while working collaboratively with school staff. I believe when parents are involved student morale and academic achievement increases.   

My goals for this year are:  

• implementing meaningful ways to engage and empower partners;  
• assessing how PTO can support the needs of teachers; and  
• applying best practices to sustain the longevity of our organization. 

I have a 3rd grader who is enrolled in the Foreign Language Immersion Program.  She has attended Cowan since kindergarten.  She enjoys the close-knit family setting and loves to learn Spanish.
