School Site Council

Cowan Avenue Elementary's School Site Council (SSC) is a representative group of stakeholders comprised of teachers, parents, and community members. This group develops and makes decisions on how to spend categorical funding provided by the state and federal governments to improve student achievement. A primary component of the SSC's responsibility is to write the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), which specifically outlines how Cowan will allocate categorical funds to meet it's goals through its various programs. The SPSA is a public document and is available for viewing.

All teachers, students, parents, and community members are invited to join us for our monthly SSC meetings. Meeting times, upcoming agenda items, and meetings minutes are posted in the Main Office and are available on this website. Please contact the Main Office for more information on these informative meetings. We welcome ALL to participate in this partnership!
